Madison, Chair
2020/2026

Hello, my name is Madison and I have been a member of the ABYA since 2020. I’m currently studying art at the Alberta University of the Arts with a major in painting, as well as a minor in jewellery and metals. I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of the amazing community of Airdrie for more than a decade, calling it my home for close to 18 years. I’ve always been passionate about connecting and uplifting my community and the people in it and the ABYA has given me many opportunities to do so. From the beginning, it has been a very welcoming and supportive environment; everyone is driven and devoted to making Airdrie a better place. It's an honour to be able to use my voice, my perspective, and my ideas to invoke positive change in my community and to have a hand in building its prosperous future! It has been and continues to be an incredible journey with a wonderful group of people; I am eager to see what our future brings.

Hello, I’m Juan! I’m a third-year student at the University of Calgary, studying International Relations and Political Science, with a minor in Urban Studies. I’ve lived in Airdrie for 16 years, and it’s been incredible to watch our city flourish. I’m a passionate advocate for youth sports, the arts, and creating opportunities that inspire young people to build their futures right here in Airdrie. I feel strongly about the role of Airdrie’s youth in civic engagement and advocacy. I’m committed to building an Airdrie where young people not only grow up, but choose to stay and thrive after graduation. I’m proud to provide feedback on initiatives and projects that shape Airdrie’s rapid growth and help lay the foundation for a city that empowers its youth. I'm excited to continue working toward a community that doesn't just grow, but evolves into a future-ready city shaped by the next generation. It’s an honour to be part of such a passionate group of young leaders, and I look forward to what we’ll achieve together.

Hi, I’m Mehak! I have a passion for leadership, creativity, and making a difference in my community. Volunteering in Airdrie schools has given me the chance to connect with younger students and create positive spaces that bring people together. I also run my own business, where I blend creativity with cultural celebration, which has deepened my appreciation for Airdrie’s diverse community. Through the Airdrie Board of Youth Affairs, I’m excited to give back by helping create opportunities for young people to feel valued, connected, and inspired to shape the future of our city.

Mason
2025/2026

Hey, I’m Mason! I joined the Airdrie Board of Youth Affairs because I wanted to express my passion about helping to give youth a stronger voice in Airdrie and creating more opportunities for young people to get involved. I’ve lived in Airdrie most of my life, and I’ve always loved being part of this community! Whether it’s through hockey, volunteering, or supporting cool events around the city! Being able to help out in the community has shown me that there is a much larger impact that teens can make for those around them and it’s great that there is opportunities for them to show their voice! After all, we determine our future!

Through ABYA, I want to help make sure youth views and values are heard and represented, and that our ideas can help shape the future of Airdrie. I’m really excited to work alongside these other really amazing people this year and learn lots from each and every one of them as we try to find ways to make Airdrie even better for those that call it home!

Hey, I’m Diksha, and I’ve been a part of the ABYA since 2023. I’m currently a high school student, especially passionate about Youth Mental Health, as well as cultural awareness and inclusion. For me, ABYA is an exciting opportunity to get involved in local issues that impact youth in our community. It’s a great platform to connect with other youth who share similar goals and have the potential of  bringing ideas to life that can make a real difference. When I’m not at ABYA meetings, you can probably catch me watching something nice, eating something delicious, or playing badminton! I’m really looking forward to working with everyone and seeing what we can accomplish this year!
